Description
The clutch slave cylinder plays an important role in vehicles with manual transmissions. The slave cylinder works with the clutch master cylinder to disengage the clutch and shift the transmission when the pedal is pressed.
How do you know if your slave cylinder bad? Some indications are;
Difficulty shifting gear, Squeaking or grumbling noise when the clutch pedal is pressed, Spongy, sticking, vibrating or loose clutch pedal when pressed, Ability to rev the engine, but poor acceleration, Slipping clutch causing a momentary loss of acceleration.
In less severe cases you will still be able to drive your vehicle properly, However a malfunctioning slave cylinder will always result in difficulty shifting gears and prematurely wears the clutch down.
